Diversity Olympics, a day dedicated to inclusion at the San Michele Hospital in Aprilia – Radio Studio 93

Lots of colors and lots of enthusiasm characterized the initiative which took place today at the San Michele Hospital in Aprilia on the occasion of the “Diversity Olympics”.

Many children and their grandparents participated in games, inclusive activities and then the Magic of Pet Therapy with Fernando il Poni.

This event aimed to contribute to breaking down stereotypes about ageism, raising awareness among new generations of social prejudices towards the elderly. This morning the mayor of Aprilia Lanfranco Principi was also there.

The event, which attracted the participation of children from various schools and after-school activities in Aprilia, is part of the week dedicated to social inclusion and knowledge of the area, through sports and sensory walks, organized by Aprilia Edu, in collaboration with the Municipality of Aprilia, the San Michele Hospital, the Italian Red Cross of Aprilia and the Toscanini neighborhood committee.

“Through games and outdoor activities – comments the mayor – it is possible to discover the pleasure of being together and encourage generational exchange, preventing those phenomena of social exclusion characteristic of a society that increasingly tends towards individualism”.
