Student raped in Rome, Borgese makes a silent scene in front of the investigating judge

The 39-year-old, already convicted for two other episodes, is under house arrest but the Rome Prosecutor’s Office has submitted a request for review requesting his custody in prison again

Simone Borgese, the man arrested by the police last week on charges of aggravated sexual assault against a student in Rome, made use of the right not to respond. The man, already convicted for two other episodes, made a silent scene in front of the investigating judge Maddalena Cipriani, in Piazzale Clodio. Borgese is under house arrest but the Rome Prosecutor’s Office has filed a request for review requesting his custody in prison again.

In the order of the investigating judge who ordered the house arrest it is explained that “there is a concrete danger” that the 39-year-old could commit “crimes of the same type as the one being prosecuted”, a fact “deducible from the methods of conduct, which demonstrate the desire to dominate the man which is surrounded by the circumstance that Borgese has specific precedents”. In fact, the man had been sentenced to 7 years and 6 months for sexual assault, robbery and injury to a taxi driver committed on 8 May 2015.
