Varese, 12 June 2024 – Where there was the Beautiful Naples, there will be a new restaurant. The historic Varese pizzeria, founded in 1952 and managed for years by the Imperato family – the founder Gennaro died in 2020 – declared bankruptcy in October 2022, when the Varese court rejected the proposal, the composition with creditors.

Since then the premises in Piazza Giovine Italia, the very center of the garden city, have remained empty. Now comes the turning point: the business and the entire building have been taken over by the Milanese real estate company Athena Consulting srl led by the entrepreneur Valerio Alberici. The acquisition was notified by the notary Monica Zara.
The future
“We are very satisfied with this operation which will allow us to write a new chapter in the history of the city’s hospitality – comments the number one of the company – in fact by the end of 2024 Bella Napoli has been closed for two years now, will make way for a new venue, with a younger and more contemporary format. At the moment I can only say that it will always be a restaurant.”
The project falls within a broader investment plan dthe Milanese real estate company, which will see the opening of new commercial activities in the Varese station area.
History
La Bella Napoli has made the history of catering in the city: thousands of Varese residents sat at the table, in the internal room or in the outdoor arbourto enjoy a pizza or a first course.
Gennaro Imperatowho had started his career in the Da Gigino pizzeria in Vico Equense, was the first to bring to Varese pizza by the metre.
