Aldi strengthens its presence in Lombardy with a new store

On June 13th, ALDI will inaugurate a new store in Mariano Comense, in the province of Como, located in Via Isonzo on the corner with Via Cardinale Borromeo. This new shop is located on an area previously occupied by a sawmill, now redeveloped thanks to urban regeneration interventions. The opening of the shop will not only improve the local infrastructure, but will also enrich the area with a public car park with a maximum stop of 90 minutes and a new cycle/pedestrian path enriched by trees and benches.

Located in the center of Mariano Comense, the shop has a surface area of 903 m2 and a design conceived to meet modern consumer needs. It offers a smart shopping experience, thanks to a compact assortment and well organized which allows customers to shop quickly and easily. The quality of the shopping experience offered by ALDI was confirmed for the third consecutive year by the Altroconsumo Inchieste survey, which recognized ALDI as “Consumers’ favorite discount store”.

The shop has 88 free parking spaces, including 2 for disabled people and 2 for expectant mothers or new parents. The store is also equipped with a 72.28 kW photovoltaic system and 2 columns for charging electric cars with a power of 22 kW.

With this opening, ALDI strengthens its presence in the province of Como, where it now has 5 stores, leading to 63 the total in Lombardy. The new opening generated 14 new jobs, contributing to a total of 1,044 associates in the region. The company thus reaches 182 stores in Italy with 3,255 employees, continuing its expansion in Northern Italy and contributing positively to the local economy and employment.
