In recent days, the Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Salerno, following a targeted activity against illegal commercial activity and the trade of unsafe and potentially dangerous items for buyers, has seized, in several interventions, over 185 thousand products.

Specifically, the financiers of the Compagnia di Vallo della Lucania carried out a check on a person who had set up a real “bazàr”, in a Cilento area, totally illegal, within which, on special shelves, numerous and varied products were positioned for sale.

The verification carried out on site made it possible to ascertain that the man carried out the activity of street trading in public areas, without possessing the authorizations required by regional law: therefore, the administrative seizure of more than 110 thousand items held for salesuch as clothing accessories, household and school products, for a commercial value of over 22 thousand eurosin addition to imposing on the man a penalty equal to 5,000 euros.

The Fiamme Gialle of the Eboli Group, however, found, in a commercial establishment, further 59 thousand productsincluding gadgets and various costume jewellery, without the necessary certifications, indications and warnings for use in the Italian language, while in a final intervention, the financiers of the Agropoli Company seized, in two different shops, over 15 thousand articles for the hygiene and personal care, as well as various objects and toys, not compliant with CE standards.

The merchants have been reported to the Chamber of Commerce for the imposition of the expected administrative sanctions

The Guardia di Finanza’s activity to combat abusive trading highlights the need to guarantee a competitive market, where honest economic operators can benefit from conditions of fair competition.
