A meeting on the water emergency in agriculture took place on 4 June.
Present at the meeting were representatives of the agricultural hydro consortium, of the municipality of Bagheria, the manager of the Agriculture Department of the Sicilian Region Pietro Miosiwith external producers and technicians.
During the meeting it was decided to present a request to the Sicilian Region and the Civil Protection Department for the regeneration / reactivation of existing and long-abandoned wells, in addition to the provision of pumping systems and the construction of new interconnection pipelines between the aforementioned wells and the canals of the reclamation consortium present in the municipal territory. This is in fact one of the indications that come in order to overcome the water emergency and any fire risks.
Today a further technical inspection took place in the presence of the mayor of Bagheria Filippo Maria Tripoliof the commissioner of the reclamation consortium Baldo Giarraputoof the engineer of Public Works and municipal network services Giovanni Lascariof the doctor Pietro Miosi of the Regional Agriculture Department, of the geologist Cutrona responsible for the drafting of the Pug (general urban plan), of the president of the hydro-agricultural consortium Pietro Pagano of the engineer Salvatore Marino of the reclamation consortium and some producers.
The inspection was carried out to evaluate and agree on the activities to be implemented for the commissioning of some wells and to quantify the expenditure necessary for all the works. The administration would like to thank the commissioner of the Sicilian Region for the water emergency in agriculture Dario Cartabellotta for the collaboration.
