As the evening descended on the lagoon, with the view of the Square and the island of San Giorgio through the columns, the creations that best exemplify #camelandia, one of Ian Griffiths’ favorite hashtags, took to the catwalk: «It is a place of mind, where everyone is happy, nothing bad can happen and where beauty is experienced. Now, here we are in Camelandia!” he explains a few minutes before the show, sitting in the loggia of the Gothic palace that will host the show.

Precious fabrics
Material research has always been one of the cornerstones of Max Mara’s DNA: for the collection that takes inspiration from Marco Polo, brocades and fabrics with three-dimensional effects are among the protagonists, but also jacquards and prints that replicate ornamental leaves of Venetian Gothic and the stylized floral bouquets and motifs that recall Zoroastrianism, Hinduism and the Chinese philosophical concept of Yin and Yang.
The decorated knitwear and late medieval details
Even the knitwear is dressed in embroidery and gold-effect coatings, even in the most minimal and everyday garments, while the pompous sleeves, the cords and the insert details recall the times of the great explorer to whom the collection looks.
