“Life in colours. Vincenzo Sciamè, 1941-2014”: exhibition at the Diocesan Museum 10 years after the death of the great artist

The exhibition entitled “Life in colours” will be inaugurated on Friday 14 June at 5pm. Vincenzo Sciamè, 1941-2014” organized by the Atelier Rosso Sciamè which, thanks to the tireless work of his wife Mary and daughter Katy, keeps the artistic memory of the great painter alive.

With his dreamlike and at times metaphysical painting, Sciamè has opened the doors of the “rooms” of his unconscious, giving life to works full of symbolism and bright colours. Red dominates, indicating life, passion, but also death. The evocation of his Sicily is also inevitable, found in every pictorial cycle of the artist who, although perfectly integrated into the Veliterno and Roman context, does not forget his origins and love for the land.

The chosen location is the Sala Angelucci of the Diocesan Museum of Velletri (Corso della Repubblica 347, adjacent to the Cathedral of San Clemente); the exhibition will be open from 14 to 23 June on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 1pm and from 4pm to 7pm. Professor Renato Mammucari, art consultant of the Court of Velletri, and doctor Silvia will take part in the inauguration Sfrecola Romani, scientific coordinator of the Ecomuseo della Terra Amena, as well as the Sciamè family. The exhibition is sponsored not only by the Ecomuseum itself, but also by the Municipality of Velletri and the Castelli Romani System. An unmissable opportunity to rediscover the art of one of the most interesting painters on the Italian national scene who honored the city of Velletri with his presence and whose 2024 marks the tenth anniversary of his premature death.

The information and sponsors of the event are on the poster.
