During the night, a homeless foreign man was arrested, caught in the act of committing theft and aggravated damage at a business in the city centre.
The alarm was triggered when the operations room received a report regarding an intrusion in a shop in the centre. The officers immediately arrived on the scene, finding the man while he was trying to escape through the broken glass of the shop window. The speed of the intervention prevented the person responsible from escaping, who was promptly blocked despite his attempts to free himself.
The man, already known to the police for previous episodes of theft, showed an uncooperative attitude. During the transfer to the company car, he damaged the door by repeatedly hitting the window.
Once taken to the police offices, the man was subjected to photo identification for identification, as he had no documents. The investigations revealed his irregularity on the national territory, being without a residence permit and with two expulsion orders against him, dating back to 2022 and 2023.
Once the ritual formalities were completed, the man was held in the security rooms of the Police Headquarters, awaiting the direct ritual scheduled for tomorrow. The judge will also evaluate the request for authorization to activate the repatriation procedures.
