The Asd Pianeta Volley Aprilia Team wins the European Catch’n Serve Ball title. The Catch’n Serve Ball team – a sport practiced by women over 30 or mothers – participated in the International Tournament held from 5 to 9 June in the beautiful Croatian town of Rovingno. The Aprilian MamaSharks performed well from the first matches played and achieved an excellent result in the tournament ranking.
The game of the Pontine athletes was better than our opponents right from the start. The very fast plays and sudden game changes meant that in the first two games played we would not have had any particular problems in bringing home the victory. They were convinced that only by playing with grit and determination would they achieve excellent results on Croatian soil.
Thanks to the results of the initial matches they are first in the tournament ranking and this result “paves” the way for them to reach the semi-finals.
“It is certainly a prestigious result for our club – explains Antonio Maillaro, coach of the Catch’n Serve Ball team of the ASD Pianeta Volley Aprilia Team – which sees us compete with teams from half of Europe after just 2 years from the birth of this club. project. Between one match and another, our girls had the opportunity to actively participate in a clinic conducted by TatjanaGerber, professional Catch’n Serve Ball coach. Our athletes, in addition to being satisfied, had the opportunity to meet with a high-calibre coach who in turn complimented our girls on the level of play they had achieved.
Our girls, after deservedly winning the quarterfinals and semi-finals, “clinch” the ticket to play in the FINAL of this prestigious International Tournament. In the semi-final they met and won against the very fierce AICS Lecce team. Very beautiful and exciting match where the teams created excellent exchanges and displayed an exciting game to say the least. Our “terrible” MAMASHARKS have, as always, fought on all the balls, performing a superlative defense. In all departments we played at very high levels. The various types of attack of our girls put the Lecce team in difficulty who deserve credit for their excellent play, team spirit and fair play. The Mamasharks will play the FINAL against LATVIA.
Well yes!!! On Saturday 9 June at 12:00 in the beautiful Rovinj facility, our MAMASHARKS demonstrate why they are “terrible”… in the final match they showed all their work and their game organisation. They immediately got into the mood for the match, which is not easy in these competitions, and immediately made it clear to their opponents that it would be tough for them, in fact the partial sets leave no doubt. The girls “grinded” ball after ball with the Latvians who remained annihilated. Our game improved game after game and in the final we reached the top. A heartfelt thank you also goes to the girls of ASD Frampula and ASD Con Noi for believing in this project by PIANETA VOLLEY APRILIA TEAM.
