Nicola Cavina, 38 years old, from Faenza, is the new coach of Faenza who, as a freshman, will face the next Eccellenza championship. Cavina succeeds Agostino Vezzoli, the coach who concluded his experience with 2nd place in the regional playoffs, a guarantee for the promotion pass. Already coach of the junior team for several seasons with important results, Nicola Cavina takes on the role of manager as it is understood in English football, since he will also continue to carry out the function of sporting director. His will therefore be a 360° figure, confirming the strong bond with the colors of Faenza, the club where he joined as youth coach in 2012, then appointed head of the youth sector in 2014 and, a year later, also sporting director.
It is therefore a new challenge: “I thank the company for the role entrusted to me – commented Cavina – I am happy and at the same time curious to test myself in this role too. I take on the commitment with enthusiasm and with the awareness that it is a great responsibility, but also an incentive to improve myself.”
“I know well – continues the manager in his reasoning – how important it is to consolidate Excellence for the local football movement, even more so since, last season, the collaboration with Virtus Faenza was created, practically doubling the youth sector I therefore accepted, well aware that I was the first to consider returning to take care of sports management only if the conditions required it. I am linked to the corporate project, not to a specific role born in 2012 with president Gian Andrea Missiroli and with Luciano Lanzoni”. The 38-year-old Cavina also anticipated the tactical issues related to next season.
Going into the matter, the new coach of the Manfreda team declares the following: “Alongside players confirmed from the winning season just concluded and youngsters from the U19s, some already with appearances in the first team, we will insert elements capable of bringing experience, personality, physicality and technique , necessary to face the change in category? I like to change depending on the players available and also in progress.”
