«The G7 is an opportunity to enhance Italian products»

BARI – The G7 scheduled in Puglia, in Borgo Egnazia, from 13 to 15 June will be an opportunity to “enhance” Italian cuisine and Puglia, already “excellently evaluated, like Italy, on international markets”. This was said in the Media center of the Fiera del Levante in Bari – where all the international journalists arriving for the summit will gather – the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida.

The minister is a Bari for the presentation of the space dedicated to PDO and PGI products made in Italy. «We must be proud of what we have, but above all aware of the value» of the products. “Something doesn’t only have value in itself, but it has value if you tell it, explain it and make it clear that the element that distinguishes it is quality”, he added Lollobrigida. «Around each of our products – the minister said – there is a territory that is told, there is a story, there are three thousand years of contamination by many cultures, each of which has left a piece of itself here in Italy , giving us the fortune of having a DNA, in each of our productions, which is unique in the world.”

«We must take advantage of every opportunity – he concluded – to tell ourselves. When we tell ourselves and explain what we are and what we have, our economy grows. And the well-being of other human beings increases when they eat Italian.”
