Microbiological analyzes of marine waters of the Tyrrhenian coastal stretch of Cosenza: a commitment to environmental protection

Press release

The Mare Pulito association has stipulated an agreement with the Environmental Chemistry Laboratory (SILA), CTC – UNICAL Department for the implementation of a sampling and laboratory analysis activity on the marine waters of the Tyrrhenian coastal stretch of Cosenza.

The project is made possible thanks to the donations and contributions of all supporters. For its implementation, the Mare Pulito Association chose to start from the Tyrrhenian coast of Cosenza, within which – as many will remember – the Memorandum of Understanding was signed in 2021 with the 21 municipalities involved.

The project aims to offer concrete support to all the institutional forces involved in environmental protection.

The association will evaluate – as always – every report that arrives on its channels, trying to guarantee a uniform investigation on the entire section of interest.

Samplings will be carried out until the first week of August.

The analyzes will concern the following microbiological parameters:

a) Research and counting of Escherichia Coli with ISO 9308-1:2014/Amd-1:2016 measurement method

b) Detection and count of fecal Enterococci with ISO 7899-2:2003 measurement method.

Mare Pulito continues to work with commitment and responsibility for the good of all!
