The meeting, which follows the one on 5 March, was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Business and Made in Italy, of the Economy, of Labour, of Infrastructure and of the Environment, of the Department of Cohesion Policies of the Presidency of the Council, Puglia Region, Province and Municipality of Brindisi, Enel and the Port System Authority, Invitalia, Trade Unions and Employers’ Organizations and the Asi consortium.

Following today’s meeting, MIMIT will coordinate subsequent meetings thematic tables to address the specific problems that were represented at the table by the representatives of the territory and which will have as their object:

  • the evaluation of the reindustrialization projects presented today and other possible projects, together with the Puglia Region and the Port Authority;
  • the development of a Program Agreement with social, employer and institutional partners through which to define mutual commitments to support a path to relaunch the productive economic fabric of the entire Brindisi area, creating the conditions for the establishment of new industrial projects of development and, in particular, for the creation of a renewables supply chain;
  • the timing of the decommissioning of the Cerano power plant;
  • the environmental safety and production relaunch of the industrial areas falling within the Site of National Interest;
  • the problems of companies in the chemical and aerospace districts historically established in the area.
