“A Democratic Party in such good shape was not foreseeable, with a result that drove the entire coalition and allowed the game to be closed in the first round”. On the front of the losers, the analysis has only just begun. The provincial coordinator stands out for the number of preferences: 729, one of the biggest hauls ever among the centre-right candidates in the city. “I will lead a team of absolute quality, which can be the basis for building a project for the future”.
The present, in the meantime, is made of numbers. In the eyes of Aragon, both those of the centre-left, primarily of the Democratic Party, and those registered by the coalition led by the civic body are unexpected Giovanni Tarquini, which in his opinion achieved a result below expectations. “Our desire to broaden the perimeter of the center-right through a broader project did not come to fruition – he said – We must ask ourselves why we were unable to attract an electorate that was not our usual electorate. We must ask ourselves why we were not able to translate this discontent that was and still is in the city to a greater extent than what the electoral data say into votes in favor of our mayoral candidate and our coalition. We must reflect on the electoral campaign, on communication, on the lists. We have to ask ourselves why we didn’t achieve a result that, beyond the defeat, we expected to be higher.”
