UDINE (ITALPRESS) – “The aim of the specialization course organized by the University of Udine and by Ente Friuli nel Mondo, with the support of the Region, is to maintain contacts with the descendants of those who had to emigrate from Friuli Venezia Giulia for various reasons, first of all economic: people who then built a life and a family in another country, often on the other side of the world. Maintaining those contacts also means creating new opportunities for the present: the project, in fact, on the one hand allows young people of origin to rediscover the lands of origin of their ancestors, and on the other it favors important job opportunities which perhaps, one day, will be able to allow these kids to work for Friuli Venezia Giulia or in Friuli Venezia Giulia”. This was underlined this morning by the regional councilor for local authorities Pierpaolo Roberti, who spoke in Udine, at Palazzo Florio, in the spaces of the University of Udine, at the presentation of the 15th edition of the specialization course “Identity values and entrepreneurship” which sees protagonists 12 young Argentine and Brazilian citizens of Friulian origin.
Taking part in the illustration of the project were, among others, the president of the Accademia della Crusca, Paolo D’Achille (in videoconference), the director of the specialization course (organised by the Department of Humanistic Studies and Cultural Heritage), the glottologist Raffaella Bombi, the president of the Ente Friuli nel Mondo Loris Basso, the rector of the University of Udine Roberto Pinton and the young students.
“This new edition of the study course will also represent an important moment of growth and knowledge for the young participants, of discovery of the land of origin of their ancestors: they will be able to recognize themselves and strengthen their identity, making their family roots their own, in the language , in habits and customs, in social dynamics, in the economy and in the relationship with the rest of the world – Roberti pointed out -. They will be able to live and have educational experiences that will certainly mark their path, and they will do so in a region that today has profoundly changed compared to the times of the emigration of their grandparents and great-grandparents, who were then forced to leave in search of better conditions”.
