Prato, a festival to celebrate Francesco Nuti one year after his death

On 12 June 2023 Francesco Nuti left us. On the first anniversary of his death, the Circolo Renzo Grassi of Narnali – the hamlet of Prato where the actor and director was born and raised and where his father had a hairdressing shop – remembers him with the Narnali Festival: five days of shows, concerts and events that will see guests, among others, Ginevra Di Marco, Legno and Marco Della Noce.

The opening evening on Wednesday 12 June will be all in the name of “Cecco”, in which friends and artists of Francesco Nuti will participate, in a whirlwind of live shows, speeches and memories. Be careful, it will not be a commemoration, but a party imbued with that disenchanted, cheerful and sly spirit that has always hovered in Narnali and which contributed to forging Nuti’s character and style. We will find the music, the actors and the extras from his films, perhaps in that same billiard room of the club which now bears his name and which was the inspiration for some films.

Thursday 13th, again at the Circolo Renzo Grassi, space for the refined notes of Ginevra Di Marco, performer and author of music that crosses different worlds and genres, embracing popular culture and the best songwriting, in a continuous sonic and human exchange. “Ballad for Margherita Hack” is the evening that will be held in memory of the great scientist, with whom Ginevra created numerous shows, a project also immortalized in the book/DVD “The soul of the earth seen from the stars”. With Ginevra, on stage, Francesco Magnelli on piano and magliophoni and Andrea Salvadori on classical guitar and electronic sound.

40 million streams and an aura of mystery. Legno is the Tuscan duo that is very popular on the web, on the radio and live. And which arrives at the Narnali Festival on Friday 14 June, a few months after the release of the new single “Str*nzo”. Nobody knows who they are, the Legnos show up with their faces covered by extravagant boxes and call themselves sad Legno and happy Legno. They have three albums under their belt and a string of high-charting singles such as “Affogare”, “Spaccotutto”, “Febbraio”. Their music draws on it-pop, songwriting and indie and they return to their Tuscany after a triumphant summer tour, in the wake of their new album “Lato B”.

On Saturday 15 June we move on to… cultural: the pretext is Italy-Albania, the Azzurri’s first match at the European Football Championships. But entertainment doesn’t just come from the big screen. As a backdrop – and something more – is the true Prato pathos of the Circolo Renzo Grassi. After the match, excellent 80/90 music and signature drinks.

Marco Della Noce closes on Sunday 16 June. Just him. The indomitable mechanic of the “Bocs Ferari” and much more. Characters that the actor and comedian will revisit in this show which spans 25 years of his career. And of life. Accompanying him will be Larsen and his life gone “up in smoke”, the captain of the Nocs who follows him like a shadow… The simplicity of the gesture is fascinating in this recital. Marco enters and exits the world and life of his characters, through a single element, be it a vest or a balaclava or something else. Event within and with the support of Prato Estate 2024.

All events are free to enter, with the exception of the Ginevra Di Marco and Legno concerts (entrance 10 euros, pre-sales on Exceed, website and app). The Renzo Grassi Club is in via Pasubio 23, in Narnali (Prato). Tel. info. 370 3017013
