Hit with a car by a supporter of the opposing list, following an argument. This is the story that comes from Tuscany and has as its protagonist Matteo Arcennicandidate for mayor from a civic list close to centre-right to the administrative offices of Terricciola. An event that took place yesterday, outside one of the polling stations set up in the municipal territory of the town located in the province of Pisa, and which promises to spark a long discussion. “I am disappointed and scared. I know well what happened and fortunately there were at least a dozen witnesses who witnessed the scene. That man first photographed me and then ran over me – Arcenni’s statements released by the emergency room of the Pontedera hospital, reported this morning by the newspaper The Tyrrhenian Sea – for the moment I do not intend to make any further statements so as not to pollute the electoral climate. I will reserve the right to take action in the appropriate places in the coming days.”
Well, what happened? It must be said that the military personnel are still investigating the case in order to provide definitive clarity. According to what the Livorno newspaper reports on the basis of the first findings, everything started yesterday with a confrontation between the candidate of “Terricciola Sicura” and a person close to his competitor (the outgoing mayor Mirko Bini of the “Unione Democratica” list, close to the centre-left). This person would have approached by car to Arcenni and some people next to him, as they exited the polling station. And he would have taken some photos of them, as he considered them citizens close to the center-right list and who (according to him) could not have been in that place with the polls open. An initiative that would have given rise to an altercation, with the supporter of the Democratic Union who at a certain point (after having said of him “verbally attacked”) would have taken a step to get awayinversion “U-shaped” with the car on the road that leads to the center of the town.
Arcenni approached him to point out the danger of the maneuver he was carrying out at that point, but the motorist continued anyway. And at that point theimpact: the emergency services and the police arrived on the scene, with Arcenni transported to the emergency room to receive the necessary treatment. “Arcenni threw himself under my car – the motorist’s declaration to Tyrrhenianwhich appears not without surreal features – and I was going slow”. L’invested he apparently suffered a severe knee contusion.
“I don’t comment and I don’t express myself – the person concerned wrote on his Facebook page in recent hours, reassuring his supporters about his conditions – fortunately many people saw with their own eyes what happened to Terricciola, thanks for the many messages of sympathy.
