“Ready for forms of boycott”

The mobilization begins in the Parco Cerasole district of Caserta where, a few days ago, following a ruling by the TAR, an Illiad antenna was installed a few steps from homes.

The parish priest, Don Nicola Lombardi, is the spokesperson for the residents’ concerns. “Having learned the news of the installation of the antenna – he reveals – we are working to set up a neighborhood committee so that residents can have a body recognized from a legal point of view to take actions to protect themselves”. Not only. Citizens are also considering forms of protest such as a boycott of the company that owns the antenna.

For Don Nicola the problem is “the lack of an antenna plan in the city of Caserta which regulates where the transmitters can be installed”. Added to this is the concern of residents regarding “the lack of transparency on the data relating to pollution from this type of plant”, continues the priest.

From Parco Cerasole, therefore, the appeal is addressed to the whole city: “the absence of the antenna plan – concludes the priest – is everyone’s problem. Today the problem concerns Parco Cerasole, tomorrow it could concern another neighbourhood. For this means we cannot turn the other way but participate and take a position as citizens on important issues, such as health protection”, concludes Don Nicola.
