Great success yesterday for the 23rd edition of Sport al centro, the event dedicated to the promotion of sports culture, organized by the Municipality of Imola, in memory of Domenico Dadina, as highlighted by the subtitle “Dado, a life for sport”.
Held in the Acque Minerali Park, also involving the ‘Romeo Galli’ municipal stadium, the event also benefits from the patronage of the Emilia-Romagna Regional Committee of CONI, the Metropolitan City of Bologna and the Sport Valley of Emilia Romagna.
As usual, Sport al centro was opened by the parade of athletes accompanied by the City of Imola Musical Band, which started at 9.30 from Piazza Gramsci to reach the “Romeo Galli” stadium, where the event officially opened.
There are two great innovations for the 2024 edition: a face painting point to entertain even the little ones and the brand new mascot of the event around the park to cheer up and entertain all participants. To fully enjoy the day inside the park, several refreshment points have been activated, at the Acque Minerali bar, at the Cacciari Tennis Club and in the organization area (octagonal fountain area).
“There were over 46 sports clubs and 40 disciplines that presented themselves and involved thousands of young people and families, with over 25,000 total attendances – comments the mayor Marco Panieri, which also has the mandate for Sport -. A widespread and lively sports festival in the setting of the Acque Minerali park. Thanks to the Municipality’s Sports Office, the Civil Protection, the companies and associations that participated, the City of Imola Music Band and the municipal employees for the organization. Everything is always in the memory of Domenico Dadina, Dado, a municipal employee who dedicated his life to sport”
