The promotion of the Marche Region in the Lazio region continues, an initiative organized by Excellence, the Marche Region and Pio Sodalizio dei Piceni in collaboration with the Italian Ice Cream Makers Association and with the patronage of Atim (Agency for Tourism and Internationalization of the Marche), dedicated to the food and wine excellences of the Marche region.
On 6, 7 and 8 June, at the Pio Sodalizio dei Piceni Monumental Complex in Piazza San Salvatore in Lauro, three days of contamination with ‘Marcheting in Rome’ where the best chefs and ice cream makers of the capital took turns creating tasting itineraries using mainly products from the Marche area and creating typical recipes of regional cuisine. Among the protagonists of the event were the master ice cream makers of AIG who offered tastings and knowledge of interesting and new combinations: Cristian Monaco and Simone Monaco proposed the ‘Cicerchiata alla Romana’ flavour, Zabaglione al Cesanese and crumble of cicerchiata from the Marche and chopped strawberries of Terracina; Giorgio Bianchi and Mario Serani presented the ‘Salaria la Via Sale’ flavor with cream with salted caramel sauce and peanut brittle; Ivano Donato and Federico Molinari performed with the ‘Tra Marche e Lazio’ flavor with Viterbese hazelnut sorbet flavored with Pontine orange with Mbriachelle crumble ‘Ciambelline al vino’ and citrus fruit sauce.
“A second edition which saw Italian artisanal ice cream increasingly protagonist within the food and wine offering, once again in contamination with the Marche region rich in first fruits and quality raw materials. Initiatives like this are good for the territory, for the culture and for the promotion of Italian food, which now fully includes artisanal ice cream. To confirm the great union between the Marche Region and the ice cream promoted by AIG, ‘Let’s Marche Gelato Edition’ will take place on 12 and 13 July in Ancona where we will bring the last stage of the Italian Ice Cream Cup before it arrives in November at Olympic Stadium” – explained Claudio Pica, general secretary of AIG.
