THEHis slogan was “Super Gorgeous” complete with a comic character. But that of the Foggia candidate of the League for the European elections, Joseph Gorgeous it was a “super”… defeat. A total flop if you consider that he is also a regional councilor in Puglia. Gorgeous, French origins, he barely scraped together 211 votes. Only some candidates from the animal rights party “Italexit for Italy” and “Alternativa Popolare” were worse than him.
In the “Southern Italy” constituency where the politician from Foggia also appeared, the League placed fifth with 331,186 votes (6.85%). First the Democratic Party with 24.32%, followed by Fratelli d’Italia 23.58%, Movimento 5 Stelle 16.84% and Forza Italia 10.76%.
Splendido’s defeat is even more evident when looking at the result of the Northern League candidate who came second last in the same constituency: it is Matilde Tasselli which however received over a thousand votes more than Splendido, closing with 1304 preferences. The overall winner, as predicted, was the general Roberto Vannacci which in the “Southern Italy” constituency alone brought home 72,551 of these 3438 in the province of Foggia and 790 in the city of Foggia. Very bad here too. Splendido who got 134 votes in Capitanata, while just 77 in his city.
“A superhero loved by adults and children”, said the candidate during the election campaign. Love that was not noticed when expressing the preference.
