TURIN. Only Giovanni Crosetto of Fratelli d’Italia will represent Piedmont in the next European Parliament. The nephew of Defense Minister Guido was the fourth most voted on the list led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloniwith almost 34 thousand personal preferences.
The Democratic Party does not bring any of its local representatives to Europe, and this too will be salt on the wounds of a party that pays for the time wasted in internal quarrels in the choice of candidates, while the Lombard cousins were already campaigning in the territory, courting (and conquering) the Piedmontese electorate. The most voted, with 15 thousand preferences, was the president of the Young Democrats Elena Accossato, but her eleventh place is very far from any possibility of election. Thirteenth is Davide Mattiello, fourteenth Antonella Parigi and seventeenth Luca Jahier.

Always on the centre-left front, worth mentioning is the performance of the Turin native Andrea Dejanaz of Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra: more than 6,200 votes which in any case are not enough for him to be elected.
Former Torino Bellissima candidate Paolo Damilano, who ran with Forza Italia, also can’t make it: his over 12,500 preferences which put him in fourth place are not enough to get a ticket to Strasbourg. The Piedmontese outgoing members of the League are also out: Gianna Gancia is placed in tenth position with 8,500 votes, while Alessandro Panza from Ossola is eighth with 9,500.
The 5 Star Movement collapses and no Piedmontese will go to Europedespite good personal performances: Antonella Pepe is third with 8,800 preferences, Sean Sacco fifth with almost 6,000.
