Carpi is confirmed among the municipalities with the highest turnout, 62% in the European elections, but still in a very clear decline, by nine percentage points compared to the vote five years ago. Brothers of Italy also breaks through in the city where it rises to 23% (3.6% in 2019) with Giorgia Meloni who with his two thousand preferences drags the party along. The PD also grew to 45% (37.9 in 2019) taking advantage of the collapse of the M5s which stopped at 6.5% in Carpi (13.6 in 2019). Record holder of preferences Stefano Bonaccini (5,563) followed by Giuditta Pini (700) e Elisabetta Gualmini (475). The number of MEPs doubles: the confirmed Elisabetta Gualmini who will remain in Brussels is joined by the king of preferences in the North East Stefano Bonaccini with over 374 thousand personal votes.
The PD’s growth of eight percentage points gives hope to the centre-left coalition that is running for Carpi Riccardo Righi for which a victory without a run-off is looming. Voting for the municipal elections will begin today at 2pm.
Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra (5.8) and Forza Italia (5.5) achieved a good result with just over 5 percent. Salvini’s League in Carpi collapses compared to five years ago, going from 29 to 4.78%
The Lib-Dem area emerges greatly reduced with the United States of Europe (Renzians) and Action (Calendians) both below the level of around 3%.
According to the results of the European elections in Carpi, the gap between the centre-left and the centre-right is approximately 23 percentage points and, in particular, the Democratic Party has been rewarded by the electorate.
