The community of Giampilierilike every year, prepares to solemnly experience the feast of Madonna from the Thank you, which will culminate on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July. On Sunday 30 June, after the novena and the Holy Mass, the simulacrum of the Madonna delle Grazie will be carried in procession from the Mother Church to the Sanctuary.
From Monday 1st to Friday 5th July, starting from 8.30pm, various recreational activities will take place in Piazza Chiesa. In particular, on the evening of Friday 5 July, the second edition of “nta piazza spittannu a Matri a Razzia” will take place – a cabaret evening curated by Marco Iorio with the participation of ReSpinti with Gianni Lattore. The evening will be enlivened by street food in the square. On Saturday 6 July at 6.00 pm the first solemn vespers will be recited in honor of the Madonna delle Grazie, followed by the Procession to the Sanctuary, from where at 8.45 pm the traditional and evocative “descent” of the simulacrum of the Madonna delle Grazie will begin until the Mother church.
On Sunday 7th July at 11:00 and 18:00 the solemn Holy Masses will be celebrated. At the end of the 18:00 Mass, the Procession of the Madonna delle Grazie will begin through the streets of the town. At the end, there will be a concert by the band “Santo Stefano Protomartire” of Aci Bonaccorsi directed by Maestro A. Sapienza and the draw. The celebrations will close with fireworks at 23:59.
