The Norwegian has never felt comfortable on grass and for Fognini it could be a great opportunity to continue his journey in the London Slam. The Italian tennis player explained that these are the tournaments and matches that continue to motivate him.

“At my age I aim to finish in the top 100 in the world to definitely continue in 2025 (laughs, ed.). These are the tournaments that keep me alive.
I made some bad choices in the last few weeks and I paid the price. I turned the page, we talked and I’m still here. I won a match and hopefully I’ll play a good match against a top 10 player (referring to Casper Ruud, ed.).
“I’ll try to give it my all,” Fognini told Sky Sport. “These are the tournaments that matter to me. They’re the tournaments and the victories that make me continue to play and love this sport. I’ve always liked competing at high levels.
If I had believed a little more on this surface, in hindsight, maybe I could have achieved great results: maybe I would have won a 250, reached the second week here. It has always been my dream”. The challenge against Ruud will take place next Wednesday.
