AgenPress. The soldiers of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Padua have identified a company dedicated to the wholesale trade of products called MOCHAi.e. materials and objects intended to come into contact with food, illegitimately bearing the required quality mark.

In detail, since this is a highly regulated sector, the Basque Greens of the Padua Group have carried out an in-depth mapping of the businesses operating in the industrial area of ​​the provincial capital.

Products MOCHA they must comply with the standards dictated at European level, as well as have different characteristics in relation to the type of food with which they will come into contact or to the different conservation techniques and times envisaged, to prevent them from being unsuitable or representing a risk for the public health, so as to prevent cases of food contamination due to the presence of substances that do not comply with regulatory standards. Indeed, material intended to come into contact with food can transfer components to food products and, in some cases, cause contamination of the food with which it comes into contact. The extent of migration depends on a series of factors, such as the nature and composition of the material used and/or the food, the surface, the time and temperature of contact.

At a national level, however, the regulatory framework, in addition to reiterating the requirements established by the European one, establishes the obligation to notify the competent health authority of all establishments carrying out import, production, transformation or distribution of cc products. dd. The police activity, carried out jointly with specialized personnel from the Food Hygiene and Nutrition Service (SIAN) of the local ULSS 6 Euganea, made it possible to find approximately 3.5 million products without any indication and warning for the consumer, stored in bulk, without the necessary certifications suitable to guarantee the traceability of the raw materials used for their production, resulting in the failure to provide the required communication to the competent health authority.

The owner of the individual company subject to the inspection was reported to the Municipality of Padua for the administrative violations found and all the products found were seized to be withdrawn from the market.
