The Democratic Party is ahead of everyone at the end of the counting for the 2024 European elections in Tuscany. A statement that goes against the trend in the two Northern constituencies, where instead Brothers of Italy has established itself as a leading force (as well as at a national level). There is a gap of 4.5 percentage points between the two forces. The Democratic Party of Elly Schlein was chosen by 31.90% of Tuscans while the party of Giorgia Meloni from 27.43%. The result of the strong center-right coalition party is in line with the national figure, just a little lower. And it keeps the Tuscan result of the government alliance afloat, despite a result below the national average for the allies of Forza Italia (6.28%) and of League (6.21%).
The exploit of the Greens and Left Alliance
The third regional force at the European Championships is the 5 Star Movement (8.22%), but the real exploit is Greens and Left Alliance (7.55%), which registers fourth place in terms of preferences with an X which is higher than the national figure. Forza Italia and Lega follow, with percentages separated by a gap.
Renzi in Tuscany better than in Italy
If only Tuscany had voted Matteo Renzi and his United States of Europe he would have celebrated exceeding the 4% threshold (he got 4.8%). The bond between the Florentine leader and his region holds, but it is certainly not enough to keep the list afloat on a national level.
Below 4%: Santoro’s list strong in Tuscany
Remaining in the fantasy game that sees Tuscany as the only recipient of seats in Brussels, here is the list of parties that didn’t make it (and in any case didn’t make it at a national level either). The list Peace Earth Dignity Of Michele Santoro it makes an excellent 3% here in Tuscany, better than the overall figure in Italy. They follow Action (2.8%), Sovereign People’s Democracy (0.8%), Freedom (0.5%) e Popular alternative (0.3%)
