There Sicily has allocated a Birth bonus from 1,000 euros for families with ISEE not exceeding 3,000 euros. The measure is aimed at new Sicilian parents, but also at those who exercise parental authority. The Regional Department of Family and Social Policies has allocated further 1.4 million euros to cover the intervention.
The requirements
It will be given in the rankings priority to families with Isee more Bass. With the same ISEE, priority will be given to families more several. In case of equality with respect to ISEE and number of family members, the date of birth of newborns (whoever was born first moves forward in the ranking).
Then there are further requirements:
- at least one of the parents, or one of the subjects exercising parental authority, must be a citizen Italian or European. In case of subject non-EU citizenyou need to own the residency permit;
- it must be residents in Sicily at the time of birth or adoption;
- non-EU citizens in possession of a residence permit must have resided in Sicily for at least 12 months at the time of birth;
- the child must be born on Sicilian territory;
- L’Iseeas anticipated, must not be greater than 3,000 euroskeeping in mind that all members of the family unit contribute to the determination of this indicator.
Following approval of the ranking, the birth bonuses will be assigned up to exhaustion of the available sums. But the Family Department of the Sicilian Region has announced that it will increase the number of beneficiaries if further economic resources become available, including from national funds. In this case, the list of those entitled will be scrolled.
The measure can be combined with the single universal allowance allocated by the Meloni government.
Where to apply
Requests must be submitted directly to the Municipalities of residence. The individual municipal administrations will disburse the sums, based on the examination of the documentation received and following the preparation of the specific ranking. Requests, specifically, must be submitted tosocial services office of the municipality of residence and must be drawn up specific model of application prepared by the Department. The decree necessary for the distribution of the resources among the various requesting Municipalities for attribution to the beneficiaries will then arrive.
Statistics on Sicily
Istat has released some statistics relating to Sicily:
- number average of children for women in 2023 – 1.32 (in Italy only Trentino-Alto Adige has a higher value, equal to 1.42);
- middle age at the time of I’m leaving in 2023 – 31.7 years (the lowest in Italy);
- percentage of resident population aged 0 to 9 in 2023 – 8.3%;
- new born in 2022 – 36,810 (this is a decrease of 425 births compared to the previous year, but the reduction is almost a third compared to the approximately 53,000 new births at the beginning of the millennium).
