VARESE – Blame of Varese Women’s Basketballwhich brings home Arianna Beretta. After 5 seasons at Sanga Milano, the last in Serie A1, the athlete born in 1996 will be a top player in the Serie B championship going to fill the void left by the retirement of Martina Baiardo in the role of small forward. A return after the unfortunate experience of 2018.
Beretta’s career
Raised in the Geas youth team, Beretta made his debut in A2 with the glorious red and black shirt of the Sesto San Giovanni association, also achieving promotion to A1. Then came the experiences of Carugate, Alghero and, after Varese, the aforementioned Sanga. At the court of Franz Pinotti, Arianna played four A2 championships (20/21 the best with 13.1 points on average) e one in A1 (2.8 with shoe laces).

But as soon as we realized we had the chance to sign a player of this caliber we didn’t miss the opportunity. It is undoubtedly the best solution after Baiardo’s departure: Arianna drops down a category for personal reasons that led her to live in our geographical area. We are certain it will also be a useful job for the growth of the young people: her experience will help the girls who will be entering the senior world for the first time. Our market, however, does not end here: Arianna is a very important added value, but other news will arrive soon.

The next year will be a year full of changes for me, especially in my private life, in my work life and consequently also in my basketball life. Varese represented an opportunity compatible with all these changes and therefore I decided to accept with enthusiasm. I hope I can help the team get as high as possible. Serie A was a tough, but at the same time wonderful, experience and I am very grateful for the opportunity I was given to reach the top level. I will definitely carry every teaching I have received with me into these future years.
