The events dedicated to Giacomo Matteotti continue in our city on the centenary of his killing.

Friday 14 June, at 5.00 pm, at the CAS of Villa Severi, Andrea Franzoso, civic education teacher and writer, will present his book “They called him Tempesta” which reconstructs, step by step, the squad’s plan to eliminate the parliamentarian socialist, and the subsequent events: the political reactions, the Aventine, the investigations into the crime and the mock trial, up to Mussolini’s assumption of responsibility and the suppression of rights.

A book that celebrates the courage of Giacomo Matteotti: a great and timely lesson in ethics and civic education for everyone, but especially for young people, to whom the book is primarily aimed.

“Our initiative wants to underline, first of all, the relevance of Matteotti’s figure. This is why we involved a class from ITIS” declare the Pietro Nenni Association which, together with ANPI and many other democratic city associations, promoted the event.

During the evening, in fact, the children of the 5th BIA of the “Galilei” of Arezzo and their teachers will present a video on Matteotti, created during the school year that has just ended: an example of how young people from teaching history can draw positive role models to imitate.

At 8.00 pm dinner and popular songs, with Marco Giovani and his group.
