L’Anzio Calcio 1924 announced the arrival of a new Technical Director for the 2024-25 season. The position will be filled by Emanuele Cirillimanager born in 1986 with a long career as a footballer behind him.
These are Cirilli’s first statements in the new role.
“Director, welcome to Anzio. Tell us about your career as a footballer and how it could help you in this new experience.”
“Certainly my long experience in different categories, including professionalism, will help me in relating to footballers. It is not easy to summarize many years of football in a few lines, but the experiences with Campobasso, Nocerina and Messina were among the most significant. In Campobasso I have a special memory of a double bicycle kick that led to the team’s victory. The bitterest memory is the rupture of the cruciate in 2016 with Val di Sangro, an accident that slowed down my career.”
“You’re about to embark on this new career as an executive. Do you feel ready? What contribution do you plan to give to Anzio?”
“I was in a moment of stasis on a football level, typical for those who have recently stopped playing. The call from Anzio flattered me. Having played in many Serie D championships as captain, I know what I can ask of a player. The captain’s armband made me responsible and helped me relate to the locker room. I also have a consolidated relationship with many figures in the club, from the sporting director to the team manager. You will give me time to learn and make mistakes, but I am ready to face this role with enthusiasm.”
