MONTECILFONE At the conclusion of the investigations following an intervention carried out during a public order service carried out in Montecilfone (CB) on the occasion of the religious celebrations in honor of Saint Anthony of Padua, the Carabinieri of the local Station Command arrested a 47-year-old from the province of Campobasso, already holder of a police record, responsible for the crimes of violence or threat and resistance to a Public Official, provided for and punished by articles 336 and 337 of the Penal Code.
In the circumstance the man, due to a repeated verbal argument for trivial reasons with another person, forced the military to intervene twice and, in particular on the second occasion, he uttered several threatening phrases towards the workers, he physically attacked them by pushing them but without causing them any personal injury and also repeatedly hit the company car with his fists without however managing to damage it, before being immobilized.
Therefore, the 47-year-old, having ascertained his criminal responsibilities in relation to the crimes ascribed, was arrested and placed under house arrest at his home, to remain there at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
During the subsequent hearing before the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Larino (CB), the arrest was appropriately validated as having been legitimately carried out and the man was then released, in the absence of further precautionary needs.
The work of the Carabinieri demonstrates, once again, the fundamental importance of the constant and attentive presence in the area which in this case, among other things, also made it possible to prevent the event in question from creating further problems of order and public safety, due to the presence of numerous people in that center on the occasion of a religious demonstration.
