A great summer of shows and events is announced for Como even outside the classic historic center, with a program that – at least in terms of diffusion throughout the area – has very few precedents. And all appointments will be free. The Municipality of Como, in fact, wanted to create a calendar of entertainment events, all accessible to the public free of charge, to be brought to various city spaces, outside the historic center and away from the usual places of the so-called ‘nightlife’. For this objective, various economic operators were contacted who put forward different proposals for multiple locations. Here are the ones that were accepted and will be implemented during the summer.
ASLICO proposed the creation of three macro-events, each of which was divided into several days and with repeated performances:
– at the War Memorial, on the evenings of 21 and 22 June, the artistic performance called “VERTICAL DANCE”, organized by the “Il Posto” dance company specialized in site-specific choreographic performances on vertical planes and architecture. Two performances are scheduled for each day, at 7.00 pm and 10.00 pm respectively. In case of rain with recovery on June 23rd;
– along the Lino Gelpi promenadeon 17 July, the traveling entertainment called “Promenade d’arte” with clowns, tightrope walkers, stilt walkers and street artists, who will perform continuously from 6.00 pm to approximately 9.00 pm;
– at the park of Villa Olmo, on the dates of 18 and 26 July, the widespread dance performance called “Riflessi di lago” by the Artemis contemporary dance company, proposed in three moments at approximately 6.00 pm, 7.00 pm and 8.00 pm; for a total amount of 59,650 euros plus 22% VAT;
The Friends of Music Association Monza proposed 5 musical entertainment:
– In thethe area of the Sant’Abbondio compendium, on July 7, performance of the jazz piano quartet “Lunatiks 4T”;
– on 8 July the show “Marco Detto sonorizza Il Monello”, a live musical performance for piano with a simultaneous screening of Chaplin’s masterpiece;
– on 28 July the concert by the Colli Morenici Orchestra with the “La dolce vita” programme, musical pieces from the 1930s to the 1960s;
– at the public gardens of Via Anzani: on July 4th the concert of the Como Classica Chamber Orchestra, with the solo violinist Cihat Askin (Turkey);
– on 11 July the opera concert “Madly in love with love”, a tribute to Puccini on the centenary of his death; for a total amount of 22,000 euros plus 22% VAT;
The Musicampus Cultural Association proposed, as part of the Storie di Cortile exhibition, the creation of two shows at the area of the Sant’Abbondio compendium:
– on June 30th concert by the famous pop singer Joan Osborne, who will perform in a quartet with piano, guitars and pedal steel, with the participation of the American musicians from Santa Fe New Mexico, Jono Manson and Jon Graboff, Ryan Adams’ guitarist, for a amount equal to 7,500 euros plus 10% VAT;
– on 6 August the concert show “SAILING DE ANDRE’” with the artist Neri Marcorè, Scarlet Rivera & Borderlobo, a tribute to the celebrated Italian singer-songwriter and his immense repertoire, for an amount of 7,500 euros plus 10% VAT;
– Master Christian Leotta proposed on 2 July in the Basilica of Sant’Abbondio the realization of the first concert of the cycle of six recitals with the program “Ludwig van Beethoven: the 39 Piano Sonatas – Part I”, an event co-produced by BCC Cantù, the Cariplo Foundation and the Region Lombardy, for an amount of 1,500 Euros.
