Defeat to the king of fraud, Ramunni stopped in the center of Arezzo. Him: “It’s not me”

Arezzo, 9 June 2024 – An artist of fraud who pays for the undeserved television celebrity with a police arrest in the historic center. Morning in Arezzo for Stefano Ramunni, crook 61-year-old serial, which the program has often covered Hyenas of Mediaset who documented his scams over a period of over thirty years.

He showed up at a tobacconist to buy two “scratch and wini”. The owners noticed the suspicious attitude and a face that, despite not being from Arezzo, they had already seen somewhere. Ramunni asked for information on where he could make color photocopies and on a nearby real estate agency which on a Saturday morning is closed. Questions that made the owners even more suspicious as they searched for “scam king” when they saw Ramunni’s round face appear.

As soon as the man left the shop they contacted the police who rushed to the scene and stopped him after a short chase. In the meantime, in the copy shop the fraudster had had an identity card photocopied that was not his. When the officers stopped him Ramunni was unable to resist the art of pretense which brought him money and legal trouble. Without documents, he denied being Ramunni and provided false personal details but, after he was taken to the police station, he was identified as the criminal who Giulio Golia, Mediaset’s Hyena, often dealt with.

Infinite the criminal curriculum of Ramunni, specialized in the theft of identities from doctors, bankers, psychiatrists even priests and, say his own accomplices, putting together millions of euros in his career as crook. He produced fake degrees and wrote bad checks, leaving hundreds on his way victims.

Convicted and released from prison a few months ago, he is being pursued by trials in courts across half of Italy. But Ramunni has a solution for that too: as he accumulates cases, he impersonates his lawyer (thanks to the false identity) and sends certificates certifying his death to have the crime extinguished due to the death of the offender. It also happens that, still pretending to be his lawyer, he goes to the courthouse to consult his client’s file and comes out with the folder under his arm, thus making every trace disappear.

But the notoriety television that he earned by cheating has this time turned against him.
