«The events that occurred in Latina» where a natural sciences teacher at a high school allegedly pointed a knife at a student «if confirmed, would be very serious». This is what the General Director of the Lazio Regional School Office states, Anna Paola Sabatini. The teacher, reported by the Institute’s headmaster, was immediately suspended. «We are awaiting the results of the investigations by the judiciary and the police, who are always at our side in managing emergencies. We continue to monitor the situation and work to ensure the greatest possible serenity for the entire school community, and in particular for students about to take their final exams” Sabatini continues.
The episode was reported by the head teacher of the Latina school who showed up at the police station in Borgo Podgora. The principal filed a complaint against a 63-year-old Natural Sciences teacher who works in his school, reporting a truly alarming episode.
The reconstruction, being examined by the Carabinieri of Latina, was reported by the director who in turn acquired the information within the school, not being personally present at the event. The teacher allegedly pointed a knife towards a 17-year-old student, in the direction of the throat.
According to the information that emerged, the knife held by the science teacher was the one he normally used to clean fruit during breaks at school. It is not clear whether there was an argument between the two. Up to now, the episode has not been reported by the parents of the minor student. The only complaint was presented by the school director. It will be necessary to understand in what context the event occurred, given that someone spoke of a gesture “of a playful nature”, but on this too it will be necessary to await the appropriate investigations. The investigation by the Latina Prosecutor’s Office was opened with the hypothesis of the crime of aggravated threat, the Carabinieri also reported the case to the Rome Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office. The 17-year-old will be heard in a protected hearing.
