The gate that regulates vehicular access to the port’s fishing pier has been activated

The gate that delimits the vehicular access towards the fishing pier in the port area of Catanzaro is in operation. A further measure prepared by the municipal administration in order to guarantee greater order and safety in the use of the infrastructure, also in light of the more complete completion project that is affecting the Port.

In particular, entry to the space affected by the new regulation will only be allowed to fishermen and persons previously authorized by the Port Authority, in compliance with the provisions of the Navigation Code, through the issue of a specific badge to be requested at the municipal offices. A provision agreed with the Harbor Master’s Office and the coast guard of Catanzaro, Soverato and Crotone, as well as with the Fire Brigade, entities with which a positive dialogue has been underway for some time. A solution that will not only be useful for regulating fishing vessel entries into the pier, but will also serve as a safety and prevention measure to avoid the uncontrolled storage of waste and non-compliant use of the access route to the sea.

All interested parties can apply for a badge to be issued via the procedure available on the “Port and maritime state property” page on the municipal portal at https://www.comune.catanzaro.it/ambiente/patrimonio/porto-e-demanio -maritime/
