Perugia, the Coordination also pushes Santopadre to give up: “Nobody wants you anymore”

The protest against Massimiliano Santopadre is enriched with a new chapter. After the invitations to leave the helm of Perugia by the organized groups, this time it is the Coordination Center that takes to the field with a similar purpose.

The patron, as is known, is waiting for his counterpart from the Court before taking his steps but the Coordination itself, with a long note on Facebook, has made it clear that it is not willing to wait much longer.

Below is the full text:

“The Coordination Center, after years of disillusioned expectations, asks Santopadre to leave, to sell Perugia Calcio, to abdicate. Promises never kept, zero investments, results that have led to the decline of image and ranking, the absence of sports programming even at a youth level, total absence of relationships with the fans and the territory, reducing football to a last-division reality, brought ever further down.

For the first time in history, the environment, the fans, the city, have never been so united in contesting the actions and ways of a President, who is asked to step aside, avoiding continuing to hold hostage an entire community that deserves greater respect and dignity. The Coordination Center asks the top manager for an act of dignity, to leave our team to others. The most important shareholder, the fan, has for years been vilified and derided due to behaviors and choices that have never gone in the direction of true football interest.

There are too many empty promises, infinite errors without remedy, numerous attitudes with which a distance has been created like a chasm, so all that remains is to take a step back. It is not up to us to choose who should buy Perugia but it is up to us to decide that this club has run its course, having always said that it would sell if faced with offers. Now they are there, they are public, so it is time for the President to sell this club, giving those who want the good of Perugia the chance to do so, avoiding continuing to procrastinate and take time.”
