Jorgies how do you see it in Aprilia next year?
“We’ll see next year, I don’t know, it’s always difficult to understand in advance. He comes from the best bike so it will be interesting to see what he can do with the Aprilia.”
Your future?
“We need to focus on the present, there is a long, intense season, we have some good opportunities like Assen, Silverstone and many other tracks where we can do well. I think it’s early to talk about the market, clearly many riders were in a big hurry and signed very quickly. We remain calm, we know what we have to do, for the moment I’m 100% with Aprilia and I have to stay very focused because I think we will have some good opportunities soon. I want to stay focused and avoid anything disturbing me or taking away this good feeling that I currently have, which can give me a lot of satisfaction.”
Did your crew chief say you haven’t reached your full potential yet?
“It’s true, we lack the start, it’s something that we need to improve in general at Aprilia. We should have some development in that area but nothing confirmed yet. We are all pushing for something new to arrive for the start because by starting from the front you can do more or less what you want and with this bike I need to start from the front.”
Between Max Biaggi, Alessandro Gramigni and all these riders present here today who competed in different eras, what is the riding style that amazes you most of all?
“Everyone is incredible, it’s hard to take anyone. But come on, I’m happy to see that even if the years pass the speed remains in the blood, they’re really going very fast.”
You are the most extreme however, both when braking and with the throttle, I heard that your engine is the one that screams the most.
“I don’t know, I don’t know (laughs). Maybe come on, but it’s still fun because if you take the 660 or the 1100 you have a lot of fun. I think these bikes are really nice for amateurs too.”
