Brown ballot for the North-East constituency with 12 lists with 165 candidates for 15 seats up for grabs
At 3pm today in Italy the polls opened for the renewal of the European Parliament, thus calling all 290 thousand eligible residents in the province of Ravenna to vote. You can vote until 11pm on Saturday and from 7am to 11pm tomorrow, 9 June. As usual it is necessary to show up at the polling station with an identification document and an electoral card. The advice is always to check in advance that you have not run out of space for the stamps or that you have not lost it, in any case the electoral offices of the Municipalities will also be open on the voting weekend.
As is known, in Italy there are 5 colleges and the province of Ravenna is included in that of the North-East. Twelve lists that voters here will find on the brown ballot for a total of 165 candidates competing for 15 of the 76 parliamentarians that Italy is entitled to.
The draw meant that the first symbol will be that of Forza Italia – Noi Moderati with the national secretary Antonio Tajani, Foreign Minister, Vice-President of the Council at the top; second Sandra Savino; third Flavio Tosi.
The second is that of United States of Europe (Italia Viva, Più Europa, Psi, Radicali, Libdem, Italy is at the centre) which is headed by Graham Robert Watson. Also on the list Kateryna Shmorhayhead of the association that brings together the Ukrainians of Ravenna.
The mayor of Terni and founder of the “Niccolò Cusano” university, Stefano Bandecchi, is the leader of Alternativa Popolare, while Pace Terra Dignità is headed by Raniero Luigi La Valle, third is the former journalist Michele Santoro; thirteenth the actor Paolo Rossi, also on the list from Ravenna Elettra Stamboulisauthor, art curator and school director.
The 5 Star Movement is counting on the outgoing MEP Sabrina Pignedoli as the leader while at number two is the founder of Banca Etica, Ugo Biggeri.
In the list Freedom the leader is Cateno De Luca; Ugo Rossi, among the leaders of the No vax protest in Trieste, is twelfth. A curiosity: there are three candidates from Ravenna with Cateno De Luca, it’s about Mirko De Carlileading exponent of the People of the Family, Cinzia Pasi62 years old, member of the Roncalceci city committee and Paolo Silvagniresident in Fusignano and among the founders of the Moderate Party of Italy in 2021.
Greens and Left Alliance (Avs): leaders Cristina Guarda (regional councilor in Veneto); according to Domenico Lucano.
At the top of the list PD there is, as is known, the president of Emilia-Romagna, Stefano Bonaccini; the second is Annalisa Corrado, from the party’s national secretariat.
Brothers of Italy candidate as head of the list, as in all other ciroconstrictions, is Giorgia Meloni who will obviously remain in any case as prime minister in Italy; at number two is Sergio Antonio Berlato, MEP supported by Venetian hunters and Covid denier. In sixth place is Stefano Cavedagna from Bologna.
Action has Carlo Calenda as its leader. In third place is the former mayor of Parma Federico Pizzarotti and the list also includes the man from Ravenna Giovanni Poggiali53 year old, entrepreneur, president of the Movement for the Autonomy of Romagna and lawyer from Ravenna Maria Valeriana Masperi.
There Sudtiroler VolkSpartei (Svp) has Herbert Dorfmann as its leader.
There League nominates the outgoing MEPs Paolo Borchia and Elena Lizzi for the first two places. In 14th place General Roberto Vannacci. The 56-year-old from Faenza is also with the League Roberta Conti.
