LIVORNO. Fantasy in power. It is that of the Livorno painters. They are the protagonists of “Montmartre-Garibaldi one way”. The art that stops. Observe the neighborhood. He reproduces it in freedom and characteristics. There are young people, children, grandparents. Men and women who welcome the call of the extemporaneous of that very picturesque and multi-ethnic city neighborhood.
This year the theme for the extemporaneous event is: «The Medici canals, the sea in the city». The first prize «Garibaldi one way» will be a personal exhibition at the Extra Factory gallery, the special «Gruppo D’Alesio» prize of 500 euros, the Under 35 prize a solo exhibition at Studio Mochi and the voting public prize which will award 200 euros to ‘artist with most preferences. Artists who do not want to participate in the extemporaneous exhibition can exhibit their works in the square on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June, in the morning. In the artistic commission Piero Mochi, Isabella Staino, Giorgia Madiai, Fabrizio Razzauti and Jacopo Suggi. The photographers are called for the “photographic marathon” which involves the selection of 5 authors who will be able to document the events and the spirit of the event.
On Saturday 8 June the public will be able to vote with ad hoc coupons for their favorite work in the competition. These are offered a guided tour with Paolo Cova, scientific director of the City Museum.
Also on Saturday 8 June at 6pm the artists «Santini Del Prete» and Maestro Piero Mochi will collaborate with the little ones in the show «Tra cielo e mare». From 8pm to 11pm the works in the square during the tribute to Nicola Vukich (at 9pm), a poetic show with Silvia Garbuggino, Gaetano Ventriglia and Antonio Ghezzani, the intervention of the art critic Carlo Pepi, the photos of Franco Catalucci, the video editing by Lorenzo Costagliola (event of the 12th chair association). Final Sunday 9 June with the exhibition of the works from 10am and the artists’ awards ceremony at 12pm on the stage in Piazza Garibaldi; at 11.30 am Antonio Vinciguerra’s speech on the social role of Art.
