Order of Architects, ribbon cutting for the new headquarters in Piazza delle Istici

Goodbye to Prato della Fiera: the new headquarters of the Order of Architects of Treviso was inaugurated on Friday 7 June, as part of the “Open! Open studies” exhibition, in Piazza delle Istici. In addition to the president of the Order, Marco Pagani, the mayor of Treviso, Mario Conte, also spoke at the ribbon cutting.

The move was made necessary following the problems that emerged regarding the upgrading of the structure that has hosted the Order in recent years. Furthermore, the availability of more space was necessary to allow the organization of in-person courses without having to rent additional premises with costs borne by the Order. The new solution in Piazza delle Izioni responds to these security and organization needs, thanks to the more functional spaces, the presence of an internal room with around 60 seats equipped for holding the Foundation’s courses and the Order’s activities and the availability of premises ready for use (net of some small improvements).

Another benefit is the central location, easily reachable by members, with the presence of convenient free and paid parking nearby. All this, together with the competitive cost of rent, determined the choice to move. Finally, the view onto Piazza delle Istici with its stalls will also give the possibility of planning outdoor initiatives, like today’s. The Council of the Order underlines how «the new headquarters finally reflects in an adherent way the meaning of what has been built in recent years. We’ve been waiting for this mutation of places for a long time too.”
