In both municipalities of the lower Valmetauro where today and tomorrow we go to the polls also to elect the mayor and the council for the five-year period 2024-2029, namely Sant’Ippolito and Cartoceto, only one list was presented. Consequently, for the mayoral candidate and his entire team to obtain the ‘pass’ it will be sufficient for 40% plus one of those entitled to go to the polls and for half of these to express a valid vote. Otherwise there will be a commissionership. A circumstance, that of the presence of a single group, which if it may be understandable for Sant’Ippolito, where just over 1,400 people live, is rather strange for Cartoceto, which has 8,100 inhabitants and where just 10 years ago they fought over the four candidates at the top of the city bench.
In the city of oil, where those entitled to vote are 6,645 (3,310 men and 3,335 women), Enrico Rossi (photo on the right) is running for the third consecutive mandate, who has a mix of councilors in his ‘Now again tomorrow’ team outgoing and new entries: Matteo Andreoni, Gianpaolo Bargnesi, Francesca Ciacci, Luigi D’Ambrosio, Fabiana Fiorelli, Sonia Gambini, Raffaele Guidi, Michele Mariotti, Martina Mattioli, Caterina Pompili, Ramona Rapanotti and Stefano Urso. The outgoing mayor is also a candidate in Sant’Ippolito, where Marco Marchetti (photo on the left), after the photo-finish victory in 2019 against Stefano Tomasetti (by just 3 votes, 455 to 452), is trying to get the ok for his second council. With him, Francesca Balducci, Italo Battisti, Eleonora Camiletti, Andrea Canucoli, Marco Cianni, Matteo Fiorelli, Erika Ruti, Carlo Signoracci, Giada Tommassini and Raffaella Valentini make up the ‘United for Sant’Ippolito’ list. Here there are 1,233 voters, of which 615 are male and 618 are female. 494 voters will be needed.
