Firenze Suona Contest 2024. Six artists competing for the grand finale

Grand finale tonight (from 8pm onwards) at the Caffé Letterario delle Murate for the fourth edition of Firenze Suona Contest 2024. Entrance is free and the public can vote for their favorite band or artist. But a jury of experts will also have their say, chaired by former Litfiba Ghigo Renzulli, who will evaluate the executive and creative skills, originality and empathy of the competitors.

The evening will be presented and conducted by the singers Sabrina Ancarola and Ginevra Marchesi. Special guests will be Big Chungus, a band of very young Alberti Dante students, winners of the Firenze Suona Prize by School Vision and the singer-songwriter Giorgia Del Mese, who will perform before the award ceremony. This year too, the national competition dedicated to young musicians did not place gender limits on the competing artists and therefore the contest saw a varied and intriguing panorama of sounds compete in the preliminaries and semi-finals. The best of the best will compete tonight on the last note. Three projects by young Tuscan artists are highlighted. We are talking about the British artist Meri Lu Jacket, graduated in Songwriting at the British Modern Music University of Bristol, who lives in Maremma, the singer-songwriter from the province of Livorno Dalia Buccianti, born in ’96, special mention of the Ciampi Prize and Le Franco, the Florentine indie rock band featuring Francesca Mannucci on vocals and guitars, Alice Mazzara Bologna on bass and guitars and Alberto Garbarino on drums.

The other three finalists are the wild Roman rock duo Laparteintollerante, particularly attentive to environmental issues and civil rights, the creative Marche formation Smitch in blu Ray, and the Milanese dream pop duo Not My Value. Up for grabs for the winners are concert openings for the Modena City Ramblers and Bandabardò, radio broadcasts on Radio Toscana, concerts on the stages of Tuscany, productions in the Larione10 and Dpot recording studios. Among the new features of the 2024 edition, two other special prizes: for the best text (Mulino del Ronzone) and the best arrangement (Playloud!).
