In the days between 4 and 6 June, a Delegation of Officers of the Corps, composed of the Commander of the Economic and Financial Police School, Gen. D. Francesco Mattana, the Commander of the Courses Section, Gen. B. Gianluca de Benedictis, together at no. 8 officers attending the 51st Higher Course carried out a study mission at the Provincial Command of Reggio Calabria.

The Higher Economic-Financial Police Course is a two-year course attended by a small number of Senior Officers chosen through a selective competition based on qualifications and exams. The course responds to the need to prepare very high professionalism in all sectors of institutional activity and represents the training course of excellence of the Guardia di Finanza by virtue of the disciplines covered, the teaching structure, the quality of the teachers and the professional and cultural level of the students. Attending officers.

The delegation, welcomed by the Calabria Regional Commander Gen. D. Gianluigi D’Alfonso and the Provincial Commander Gen. B. Maurizio Cintura, visited the headquarters of the Provincial Command and the other dependent departments, where the peculiarities of the socio-economic fabric were illustrated , the presence of the Corps’ departments in the Province and the main operational results achieved.

The visit continued at the Gioia Tauro Group, where there was the opportunity to delve deeper into the activities carried out by the Corps in the fight against international drug trafficking.

The Officers also carried out a navigation on board the naval units of the Naval Operational Section of Reggio Calabria. The study mission finally concluded with the meeting with the Prefect of Reggio Calabria, SE, Dr. Clara Vaccaro, the Attorney General of the Republic at the Court of Appeal, Dr. Gerardo Dominijanni and the Deputy Prosecutor of the Republic at the DDA, Dr. Giuseppe Lombardo.

On this occasion, the Officers went to some of the most important sites of Reggio’s cultural heritage, such as the National Archaeological Museum, the permanent Gallery of Contemporary Art of Works Confiscated from the ‘Ndrangheta at the Palace of Culture and the Aragonese Castle.
