MESSINA – It will not be a musical event or linked to the world of sport. Only two fundamental details are known: the location, Capo Peloro, and the dates, from 1 to 15 July. In the calendar of summer events “E-state in Messina”, whose subtitle is “a sea of fun”, there is a question mark that hides a surprise. This was announced at a press conference by the councilor for Major Events Massimo Finocchiaro, alongside the mayor Federico Basile and the councilors Salvatore Mondello, Liana Cannata and Enzo Caruso.
Finocchiaro, in a passage from the conference, explained: “From 1 to 15 July there are question marks in the manifesto not because we don’t know what to do, but because we can’t announce it today. There will be a stratospheric, global, super boom, non-musical event.” Afterwards, to the reporters’ microphones, he added that it won’t even be a sporting event and that “it will give prestige to the city, to the place where it will be staged and to the entire surrounding area”.
The announcement could (and should) come in the next few days, when the mayor and the council should make another big event official, this time for 2025 and this one, musical. After Mengoni and Marracash, who will arrive at the “Franco Scoglio” stadium?
