TRENT. There the youngest is 24 years oldthen there are 30, 39 up to 58 years old. They are the women who in Trento find themselves without a place to sleep. To date, there are around ten people who have turned to the desk and who find themselves on the list for a low-reception place.

The numbers have increased over the last few months the concern on the part of those who manage the services is high. In this period, in fact, the only low-threshold female reception facility is the Casa della Giovane. There are 30 places available and they are all already occupied.

They come from Nigeria, Burkina Faso, but also from Tunisia, Morocco, Romania and Ukraine. Often victims of abuse and psychological violence, in some cases forced to flee from their family to rebuild their lives.

Trips that remain imprinted in the mind and that can never be erased. In Trentino, unfortunately, the welcome that is needed is not enough. There are too few places and the problem has been highlighted several times by the associations. Then there is the problem regarding the location of these posts: all in Trento Casa della Giovane where the period of stay is a maximum of 30 days.

The councilor himself is aware of this Alberto Pedrotti of the Municipality of Trento. “It is a phenomenon that is increasing – he explains – and the attention is high. System policies are needed”.

By the Province of Trento no indications appear to be arriving on the opening of new low-threshold facilities for the reception of women. In light of some emergencies that have occurred in recent months, the Province has asked for around ten places at Casa Paola.

There are about ten women on the streets today. Three of these are applicants for international protection and are on the list for a bed.
