As part of the surveillance services that the State Police carries out on the motorway arteries that connect our country, particular attention is paid to the intensification of checks on roadside assistance activities.
In recent days, a patrol from the Novara Traffic Police Section – Novara Est Subsection, following an independent road accident with injuries which occurred on the A/4, near the Settimo Torinese (TO) junction, requested intervention of a rescue truck to remove the vehicle, as it is no longer running.
The intervention
A tow truck owned by a company responsible for this type of activity arrived on site, whose driver, subjected to checks, in compliance with ministerial provisions, aimed at guaranteeing compliance with legality in the motorway sector, was found to possess a driving licence. of counterfeit Italian driving.
As a result of the checks carried out, it was in fact ascertained that the driver of the vehicle had been the recipient, in 2020, of having his driving license revoked for an indefinite period, for other traffic violations. He was therefore reported at liberty to the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office for possession of a false driving document and was administratively sanctioned for driving without a licence, for an amount equal to €5,100.
It is important to remember, however, that the presumption of innocence applies against him as the criminal proceedings against him are in the preliminary investigation phase.
