A 40-year-old woman was arrested by Bolzano Police Headquarters staff for domestic violence against her husband. The police, alerted by a neighbor who had heard the sounds of a violent argument, entered the couple’s home and found the man covered in blood, scratches and bruises. The ambulance took the man to hospital, where he is hospitalized with a prognosis of thirty days.

A police patrol was called the other evening to urgently intervene in the Oltrisarco district of Bolzano: the report was of a violent domestic dispute between a woman and a man. The officers, after knocking insistently, saw a man appear at the entrance door with his face covered in blood, scratches, bruises, with a bleeding dental arch and some teeth missing.
Behind him, who had managed to open the door with difficulty, there was his wife, still clinging to his shoulders, hitting him violently. At that point the police managed with great difficulty to free the man.

An examination of the Interior Ministry database revealed that this was not the first intervention of its kind in the apartment where husband and wife lived. In the past, in fact, it had happened to receive reports of violent arguments between spouses.
After calling for the ambulance and medical workers, the man victim of violence, a 40-year-old craftsman, was transported to the emergency room and then admitted to the San Maurizio Hospital with a 30-day prognosis.
The woman was arrested and a warning was issued against her by the police commissioner Paolo Sartori. According to Sartori, this case “even further strengthens the idea of how the critical situations that afflict our society must necessarily be addressed by networking between institutions, local authorities, anti-violence centers and voluntary associations. The Police – said the commissioner – has always been at the forefront, even with specific projects, in indicating paths of awareness and awareness of the negative value of what has been committed, with the aim, also, of helping victims to defend themselves, to ask for help and to report the violence suffered”.
