Micaela Tangaro confirms herself at the top for the ornamental. And in September she will fly to London – BitontoLive.it

An embroidery on the skin between the breast and neck, which alternates dotted and floral geometries and draws the wings of a butterfly. With this tattoo, created in about twenty hours of work, Micaela Tangaro achieved the second place at the international convention Naples Tattoo Expo, which from 31 May to 2 June saw the participation of over 400 professionals from Italy and abroad. The tattoo artist from Bitonto beat around forty competitors in the ornamental categorybringing home yet another award that rewards talent, precision, attention to detail and originality. «I’m so happy – confesses – and proud. At every fair I learn and compare myself with the best professionals in the sector, and this makes me grow and gives me the credentials to be able to participate in increasingly important events. The next stop is the London convention in September, I can’t wait!».

Micaela, aka Mikart Tattoo, at just 25 years old is already a “name” in the world of tattooing. She is a daughter of art, she refines this talent of hers with determination. The tattoo market is not fading, on the contrary it continues to grow. Training and listening to the customer are essential to stand out, and Micaela knows this well: for her, the conversation with the potential customer is essential, to evaluate their motivations and expectations. «I happen to say no to some requests, I prefer to give up on a client rather than put my signature on a job that doesn’t represent me. There are also those who come with a photo of a tattoo and ask for the same one, but not me I copy, I personalize. A tattoo is a work of art that we carry on our skin.”

With the client who accompanied her to the Naples Tattoo Expo – she says – an immediate and profound feeling was created: «I understood that for her that tattoo was a symbol of rebirth, not only externally, the manifesto of liberation from the excess weight that had imprisoned her body».

But, beyond the design – explains Micaela – what the judges evaluate are technical parameters: movement, symmetry, precision.

The current trends are black and white but also grey, especially on the arms and, particularly for women, under the breasts to outline the shape of the body. In Micaela’s studio, under the porticoes of via Cioffrese in Bitonto, customers of all ages come into view. Even over. “Lately – tells – I tattooed a seventy-year-old lady who wanted a floral bracelet. She had dreamed of it since she was young and was very happy. We all get older, but we’re cooler with tattoos.”
